
THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE AWARD-WINNING JOURNALIST AND STORYTELLER CARI CHAMPION AS HOST OF 2025 WOMEN OF INSPIRATION
Los Angeles, California: The Los Angeles Chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE LA) is thrilled to announce that Cari Champion, award-winning journalist, television host and trailblazer in sports media, will host the 14th Annual Women of Inspiration event on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at LA’s iconic Peacock Theater.
Known for her unapologetic voice and powerful storytelling, Champion continues to inspire and lead conversations at the intersection of sports, culture and social impact. She currently hosts Naked Sports with Cari Champion, her acclaimed iHeartMedia podcast that amplifies women’s sports and underrepresented voices. She is also a regular CNN contributor known for her sharp analysis and cultural insight.
A former ESPN anchor, Champion brought her signature energy and perspective to SportsCenter Coast to Coast, First Take, and SportsNation. She later made history as the first Black woman to host a late-night cable news and information show with Cari & Jemele: Stick to Sports on Vice TV and went on to host The Cari Champion Show on Amazon Prime Video.
This year’s Women of Inspiration honorees—Katlyn Gao, Co-Founder, Founding CEO and Board Member, League One Volleyball (LOVB); Stacy Johns, Chief Business Officer, Los Angeles Football Club; and Martha Saucedo, Chief External Affairs Officer, AEG—will be recognized for their leadership, impact and contributions to the sports industry. Ali Riley, Retired Team Captain, Angel City Football Club and the New Zealand Women’s National Team, will also receive special recognition. Learn more about the honorees.
